چکیده

Glucose monitoring using optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a noninvasive technique that offers advantages in terms of signal to noise ratio, resolution and depth of penetration. We present a simulation showing the effect of the variation of the patient's temperature on the measurement of blood glucose. OCT thermo optic effects on glucose monitoring are studied. We point out the impact of skin temperature and show by OCT image simulation that the measurement of blood glucose varies as 0,2ΔT with a correlation coefficient of 0,99. Keywords— Glucose, Monitoring, Non-invasive, OCT, Temperature.

Non-Invasive Determination of Blood Glucose Levels by Optical Waveguide

Objective: Today, there are various non-invasive techniques available for the determination of blood glucose levels. In this study, the level of blood glucose was determined by developing a new device using near-infrared (NIR) wavelength, glass optical waveguide, and the phenomenon of evanescent waves. Materials and Methods: The body's interstitial fluid has made possible the development of ne...

Determination of Blood Glucose Concentration by Using Wavelet Transform and Neural Networks

Background: Early and non-invasive determination of blood glucose level is of great importance. We aimed to present a new technique to accurately infer the blood glucose concentration in peripheral blood flow using non-invasive optical monitoring system. Methods: The data for the research were obtained from 900 individuals. Of them, 750 people had diabetes mellitus (DM). The system was ...

Specificity of noninvasive blood glucose sensing using optical coherence tomography technique: a pilot study.

Noninvasive monitoring of blood glucose concentration in diabetic patients would significantly reduce complications and mortality associated with this disease. In this paper, we experimentally and theoretically studied specificity of noninvasive blood glucose monitoring with the optical coherence tomography (OCT) technique. OCT images and signals were obtained from skin of Yucatan micropigs and...

Non-invasive glucose measurement technologies: an update from 1999 to the dawn of the new millennium.

There are three main issues in non-invasive (NI) glucose measurements: namely, specificity, compartmentalization of glucose values, and calibration. There has been progress in the use of near-infrared and mid-infrared spectroscopy. Recently new glucose measurement methods have been developed, exploiting the effect of glucose on erythrocyte scattering, new photoacoustic phenomenon, optical coher...
